Decent value, could improve Wi-Fi

I took a regional bus route from Atlanta to Charlotte. The price for the economy fare ticket was good, much cheaper than flying. The bus was clean enough and the driver was friendly. My main complaint was the onboard wi-fi; it was spotty and kept disconnecting, making it hard to get work done. Power outlets were available, which was a plus. The arrival was a bit delayed, maybe 20 minutes, but nothing major. Overall, it's a practical choice for the money, but don't count on reliable internet.

Good for the price

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for the cheapest option for a trip from Portland to Seattle. I found an advance purchase discount on a one-way ticket, which made it very affordable. The bus had reclining seats, which was a nice surprise for the price. I didn't use the Wi-Fi. It felt like a good deal for my money, considering other transport options. I got to my destination without any issues.

Fantastic travel experience!

Oh my goodness, I just had the best bus trip! I used Greyhound for a cross-country bus travel from Chicago to Denver and it was great. The reclining seats were comfortable, and I even got some work done with the onboard wi-fi. I will definitely be booking with them again soon. Highly recommend to everyone!

Good trip, on time

I bought a one-way ticket from Boston to NYC. The bus was on time. My seat had a power outlet, which was useful. Driver was professional. Got to my destination as expected. No issues.

Consistent service as always

I've been using Greyhound for years, mostly for trips between states. This time, I booked a one-way ticket from Miami to Orlando. It was pretty much the same experience as before. The bus left on schedule, and I found my seat easily. No frills, just reliable transportation. I appreciate the consistency. It's why I keep coming back for these regional trips. Baggage allowance was fine for my duffel bag.

Reliable for long distances

I booked a round-trip ticket for an overnight bus trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The booking process online was straightforward, and I received my e-ticket quickly. At the station, boarding was efficient. The bus left on time both ways. I used the bus tracking service which was really helpful for family to know when to pick me up. The seats were okay for an overnight journey, not luxury but did the job. Customer service at the station when I asked a question about baggage was polite. Overall, a solid option for longer trips when you're not in a rush.

What's the deal with their baggage? Is there a weight limit for checked bags or just size?

M Matt Rivera 6 days ago
Both actually. There's a weight limit, usually around 50 lbs per bag, and also size restrictions. They charge extra if you go over or have too many bags.

L Linda Phillips 5 days ago
Yeah, 50 pounds per bag is the standard, and they'll get you for anything over that. Best to check their baggage policy on the site for exact dimensions too.

Is it true that Greyhound has Wi-Fi on their buses now? Like, actually decent Wi-Fi or just enough to check emails?

L Linda E. 1 week ago
They do, but don't expect to stream Netflix. It's usually good enough for browsing and checking social media, sometimes a bit spotty though.

Mostly for basic stuff. I used it last week for work emails and it was fine, but anything heavy like video calls might struggle.

Anyone know how early I should really get to the station before my bus leaves? My ticket says 15 mins but that seems kinda tight.

L Leah J. 5 days ago
Oh, way earlier than that, especially if you have checked bags. I'd say at least 30-45 minutes, more if it's a big city station or a holiday.

Depends on the station and time of day. If you're checking luggage, definitely give yourself more time. For carry-on only, 30 mins is usually enough, but sometimes lines are crazy.

Thinking of taking Greyhound from Seattle down to Portland instead of FlixBus. How's the legroom on Greyhound compared to other bus lines?

A Ashley Thompson 3 weeks ago
It's pretty standard, not amazing but not terrible. Some buses have extra legroom seats you can pay for if you want more space.

S Sofia T. 2 weeks ago
I've found it to be okay for most trips. Better than some budget airlines, worse than Amtrak for sure. If you're tall, maybe look into those extra legroom options.

Does Greyhound actually have student discounts? I'm a college student and looking to save some cash.

A Abigail Scott 1 month ago
Yeah, they do! You usually have to verify your student status through one of those online platforms, but it's a decent percentage off.

M Mark Hernandez 4 weeks ago
Yep, student discount is a thing. I used it last spring. Just follow the links on their site for student verification.
